This investigation took place on Friday, October, 11. Present were Cindy, Danielle, Tammy and Steve. We also took along a potential future member, Bill, to see how he would handle an investigation. Before I go any further, I have to say what a gracious and wonderful host Peg, the owner, was. She made our visit extremely enjoyable, and for that we say "thank you." This investigation involved a few "firsts" for our group. We used our IR cameras and DVR combo for the first time, our local paper tagged along to do a story on our group, and we used our "ghost radio" for the very first time. The ghost radio or ghost box, is basically a modified $40 dollar Radio Shack radio that in theory helps you hear spirits talking. We picked up some surprising results with this radio, the results of which can be found in our EVP section below. The idea came from a fellow Paranormal group called Ohio Researchers of Banded Spirits (www.bandedspirits.com). Cindy and I went to a fundraiser they were holding, and the founder, Chris, was kind enough to tell us how to modify the radio after we purchased it. Peg seems to be one those people that spirits are quite attracted too. She has a sister who has capabilities as a medium, and during the course of the evening she called Peg. She went on to say that somehow the name "Roger" and Blake would come up. Well, the reporter was Bill Rodgers, and we did get the name "Blake" come through the ghost box. Now the first name I was chalking it up to "blind luck" (I'm a big skeptic), but the second one coming through the ghost radio? I can't explain it.
The groups were broken down with Danielle and Tammy, Cindy and Bill, and myself watching the camera feedback in the monitor we set up in the conference room, and doing some EVP sessions on my own. Normally, we do not do 1 person teams, but due to the odd number of investigators, and not really feeling like there was anything "malevolent" present, I felt pretty secure. Plus, if someone had to go by themselves, I felt it should be me. It seems like everyone had some type of personal experience, or a feeling of "something's not right" (experienced hunters know what I mean). Honestly, I can't remember an investigation when all of us could say that. In the Rose room I set my K-2 meter on the high chair and noticed I was getting spikes, but they were only happening in that spot. This lead me to make the assumption that it was residual energy left in the chair. However, when I asked the energy to make the K-2 meter light up, it did it 4 different times, all on cue. That would lead us to say that there was an intelligent haunting preset also.
Both video clips were shot from the 3rd floor looking towards the stairs coming up from the 2nd floor. At the time of the filming, I looked at the corresponding camera that we had on the 2nd floor looking up the stairs. When these pieces of footage were recorded there was no one going up the stairs, or standing at the bottom of the stairs. We feel these are "shadow people." You want to focus your attention at the top of the stairs.
We did get a number of pictures that we would describe as being more on the "abnormal" side rather than paranormal. At least that's how we feel.

We picked up quite a few EVP'S, however these are the ones we had to "clean" up the least, and one we would call a class "A" EVP. The first 3 EVP's came through the ghost box, but were picked up on the digital recorder.
EVP #1 was captured in the WW 2 room and you'll here the question asked whose room was this. We feel that we hear the response of "Jennifer."
EVP #2- ADULT This EVP was captured in the Rose room. You will hear Cindy ask if she can play with something. Listen for a "no", then for cursing at the end.
EVP #3 was picked up in the sewing room. Cindy and Bill are asking about the building, saying how it's made up of both stone and brick. You'll hear "stone" repeated, and at the end when Cindy asks if "do you like repeating Bill" we hear a faint "Bill."
EVP #4 was picked up during a conversation I was having with Cindy and Bill. I'm explaining to them how Peg's sister told her a name that would come up that night was Roger. We hear the one word phrase of "Roger" at the end.
EVP #5 happened right at the beginning of the investigation when we had a large amount of activity in the bar area. Cold spots, and K-2 spikes were taking place. We picked up a response of "here I am."
EVP #6 happened to me in the kitchen, and you will hear a sound of something being dropped and then maybe bouncing. Then listening closely you will hear a response that to us sounds like "Jeffrey." I did not hear this noise at all, so we feel it's along the lines of a residual haunting.
The Knick was a really good investigation for us with many firsts. We feel both residual and intelligent hauntings are present, and that it would probably take at least one more visit to really understand what's taking place there. But there is most definitely activity taking place.
