This investigation took place on Friday, September 4, 2009. The place was a 2 story house with basement that was built around 1880. The owner is a single male, and there are no other inhabitants. He does have a dog. The owner reported a general uneasy feeling in the basement, along with catching a glimpse of a figure at the top of the stairs. He is currently doing extensive remodeling throughout the entire structure.
Cindy, Danielle, Amanda, Jason and Steve were the investigators of record that night, and due to the small nature of the home, along with the owner giving us free reign throughout the structure, we were able to cover it pretty thoroughly in 2.5 hours. A total of 4 digital cameras, 2 DVR cameras with IR capability, 2 K-2 meters, 4 digital recorders, and 1 thermometer were used. One IR camera was fixed on a tripod upstairs filming the area where the owner had seen a figure and one was used in a roving manner. A pre-sweep with K-2 meters revealed high levels of electro-magnetic areas throughout the home. The owner felt that the figure he had seen was that of a little girl, so children's toys were placed upstairs with the hope of enticing an appearance.
During the investigation no one reported feeling anything "funny", nor did we pick up anything of any significance with either the IR or digital cameras. We did pick up a few very faint, almost incoherent EVP's, but trying to clean them up did no good at all. Cindyjo was able to debunk some photographs that showed a possible shadow, and the culprit of a cold spot upstairs was also found.
We are of the opinion that the high EMF readings could quite possibly have contributed to the owner's "feelings", and may also be the culprit behind the "figure" that he has seen. In the end PSS could find no "real" evidence of anything paranormal, and further investigations at this time are deemed as unwarranted.
