This was an investigation of a private residence located in Warren, Ohio. The homeowner, along with her now deceased parents, have been the only owners of the home. There hasn't been anything malevolent reported, but noises can be heard; such as laughter and conversation. There are 3 cats in the home, and at times they have seemed to act in peculiar ways. As many of you know, animals are a good "barometer" of sorts when it comes to paranormal activity. Lights along with other appliances have turned off and on by themselves, and the residents have heard footsteps coming up the basement stairs, then the door to the basement opening. The homeowner felt that her parents were still around her, and in the home at different times.
After consulting with the homeowner, our group decided to do the investigation, and a date of March 19, 2010 was set. The husband and wife were out of town, however they do have a roommate, and she was present. The investigation setup was pretty straight forward: IR cameras hard wired into a DVR with a monitor for viewing, 2 Sony camcorders on tripods along with IR lights on tripods, and the usual assortment of digital recorders, EMF meters, digital cameras, temperature gauges etc... were used. Ed and Dani formed one team, while Cindy and Amanda formed another. Steve monitored the DVR from a setup in the dining room. Since the home is not overly large, we were able to cover it pretty thoroughly in about 2.5 hours, and it turned out to be a very interesting investigation.
Ed and Dani were in the bedroom of the roommate, which just so happened to be the room that the the homeowners mother used to use, when Dani had to leave the room due to feelings of nausea. She came out to our command center, and I was shocked how ill she looked. I've done a few investigations with her, and have never seen her look that ill because of something paranormal taking place. I told her to take over watching the monitor, and I took her place with Ed. As soon as I hit the doorway of that room, I got that "tingly" feeling that a person will get after doing enough investigations. It's almost like a little voice telling you "something is here." Both Ed and Cindy also had strange feelings in the very same room. We also had temperature fluctuations of 1-2 degrees within a few feet in the room. That room was where the majority of activity was caught that night.
The pictures below were all taken in the bedroom where Dani got sick, and were all taken within 2 minutes of each other with no other pictures taken between them. We are leaning towards these showing some type of shadow "figure" moving left to right. The last picture shows the shadow gone entirely.
We caught a total of 10 EVP's, and the clearest 3 are shown below. The others took some manipulation by Cindy, and we thought they may have been enhanced a bit too much for presenting to the public.
EVP#1 was recorded at the DVR command center. In it you will here some breathing, and then "oh man, of my God." What's interesting about this is that the homeowner said her father would say this after he would come inside the house after doing something that was exerting to him. Another interesting fact was that the command center was set up right next to a door that lead to the outside through the garage. Conversation with the owner has lead us to ascertain that this entrance was used quite often by her father.
In EVP #2 Ed and Dani are in the basement and the K-2 meter was flashing and then suddenly stopped. You'll hear Dani say "it's stopped" and then at the end you'll hear Ed say "what the." In between you'll hear a voice say "oh ****" (f-word).
EVP #3 was captured in the mother's former bedroom. Motion detectors were going off in the room while no investigator was in there. Dani went to see if perhaps a cat ran into the room. While she found no cat, she did capture this EVP. An interesting point is that soon after this was captured Dani got ill, as described earlier. The owner said this sounds like her mother, and said it also sounds like something she would say. Near the end you will hear "get out."
Overall, the investigation went well, and the client was somewhat overwhelmed hearing voices that reminded her of her parents. Based upon 4 personal experiences, and the evidence gathered, we feel comfortable in saying there is paranormal activity of some type taking place.
